Climate campaigners WWF and 350 Aotearoa, and unions the PSA, NZNO, TEU, and SFWU have joined forces to take action on climate change. Called ‘Union Climate Action’, this campaign will give you the opportunity to take action in your own workplace.
If you sign up for Union Climate Action, we will contact you from time to time with simple activities you can carry out at your workplace or at home. We’ll provide all the resources, information and support you need. It couldn’t be easier.

Climate Connections Invitation
30 years ago Christchurch was at the heart of the successful campaign to make NZ Nuclear Free. Today the looming threat is climate change. Unlike The Bomb, climate change will not happen at the push of a button – it’s already here.
Carbon dioxide (CO2), the major greenhouse gas is already at 392 ppm. To have any chance of avoiding a Climate Catastrophe, we need this back below 350 ppm.
Plans by the government and multinational corporations for new coal mines in Southland and the West Coast and for deep sea oil drilling and fracking around Canterbury, put Christchurch at the centre of expanding CO2 emissions.
On May 5 people around the World are Connecting the Dots http://www.climatedots.org between climate change and extreme weather. To play our part, 350.org.nz and Canterbury Coal Action have organised:
Climate Connections
Discussion and workshops connecting all those working
to reduce emissions & avert climate catastrophe
3 to 5, Saturday May 5
WEA, 59 Gloucester St
Organised by http://www.350.org.nz & Canterbury Coal Action
PROGRAMME
Welcome & introduction, followed by two sessions:
1. What’s going on?
An opportunity for groups working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to introduce themselves and learn about what others are doing.
Speakers are asked to give a very brief summary (2–3 minutes) addressing these questions:
* What you are doing?
* Why are you doing it?
* How can others support you?
If you or your group would like to speak, please let us know.
2. What next?
Workshops to discuss issues such as:
* How can we work together?
* Preparing for the next 350 day of action.
